In this 90-minute course, Erick Mikiten, AIA, wheels us through this 39-unit affordable housing project for people with a wide range of abilities. Erick describes the seven principles of Universal Design and then shows us how he incorporated these into this award-winning projects. Erick encourages design professionals to think broadly about how to create beautiful environments that are usable by as many people with varying level of abilities as possible.
Viewers will gain an appreciation for how to make spaces, furniture and outdoor equipment widely usable to people of different ages and abilities while creating rich and rewarding experiences.
